CONCERTS

The masterclass includes three concerts in the Chapel each starting at 8pm

Saturday 19th July: Ransom Wilson / Tim Carey
Tuesday 22nd July: Daniel Alexander / Tim Carey
Friday 25th July: Participants' Recital with Tim Carey


MASTERCLASSES:

The masterclasses give participants the opportunity to explore the rich and varied flute repertoire under the expert guidance of Ransom Wilson. All pieces which require piano will be accompanied by the brilliant and good-humored pianist Tim Carey. Classes will be taught primarily in English, but Mr. Wilson is fluent in Italian, French, Spanish. Any participant feeling more comfortable in any of these languages should feel free to apply.

TECHNIQUE SESSIONS:

Technique sessions will take place on most mornings at 11:30am in the Chapel and are led by former student of Mr. Wilson, flutist Daniel Alexander. These classes will cover some aspects of flute playing at a more fundamental level, including articulation, tone production and dexterity, as well as an introduction to some popular extended techniques.

CONCERTS

Participants have the option to play in the end of week recital on the 25th of July, again accompanied by Tim Carey. The concert will be in the Chapel, open to the public, and part of the Cambridge Summer Music Festival. The participants will also be able to hear Ransom Wilson himself, and Daniel Alexander, in concert earlier in the week also as part of the Festival.

BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER

All meals are included in the full price of tuition. They are held either in the Main Dining Hall in Main Court, or in the Buffet Suite in Main Court.

LODGING

All participants will have either single or double rooms in Saint Catharine's College. Most if not all rooms will be located off the spiral staircases of the beautiful Main Court. Again, lodging is included in the price of tuition.
